Activities
Day 1 – Rio de Janeiro.
Arrival in Rio and transfer to the hotel.
Check-in begins between 14:00 and 15:00. Accommodation and evening at leisure.
Day 2 – Rio de Janeiro. (B, L)
Full day at Sugarloaf and Corcovado with entrance fees, panoramic city tour, and lunch included. (Private or regular service with Spanish-speaking guide, approx. 8 hours). Take the scenic train through tropical rainforest to the summit of Corcovado and marvel at the iconic Christ the Redeemer—one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Then descend back to sea level for a panoramic drive past top city landmarks such as Maracanã Stadium (exterior), the Sambadrome, and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Continue to Sugarloaf Mountain (396 meters above sea level) via cable car, enjoying sweeping views of Atlantic Forest coastline, city architecture, Tijuca massif, Corcovado, Guanabara Bay with Botafogo Cove, and the Serra do Mar with the ‘Finger of God’ peak. The tour also includes a panoramic pass along famous beaches like Copacabana. Lunch is included.
Day 3 – Rio de Janeiro. (B)
Half day “Historic Rio” tour (Private or regular with Spanish-speaking guide, approx. 4 hours)
Explore the bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa and visit Parque das Ruínas (closed on Mondays). Walk through the colorful steps of Selarón into the vibrant nightlife district of Lapa. Stroll the Public Promenade the oldest park in South America—to reach Cinelândia, known for its lively bars, restaurants, and cultural sites. The final stop is Confeitaria Colombo (closed on Sundays), a café consistently ranked among the world’s most iconic.
Day 4 – Rio de Janeiro / Campo Grande / Aquidauana (B)
Check-out and transfer to the airport for a flight to Campo Grande, then transfer to a typical lodge in the South Pantanal. Arrival in Aquidauana, known as the Gateway to the South Pantanal.
Check-in starts between 14:00 and 15:00. In the evening, enjoy a wildlife spotting boat tour (weather permitting) focusing on caimans, capybaras, and more plus the silent beauty of the night sky and forest. Vehicles may also be used to explore fields and lakes for wildlife viewing. Duration: 1 hour. Accommodation and evening at leisure.
Day 5 – Aquidauana (B, L, D)
Choose two guided activities offered by the lodge, such as horseback riding, ecological hikes, cattle handling, photo safaris, piranha fishing, river tours, traditional carriage rides, or alligator tracking. Return to the lodge for a free evening and enjoy a typical Pantanal dinner.
Day 6 – Aquidauana / Miranda Pantanal – DAY USE / Bodoquena (B, L)
Early morning departure for Miranda. Choose between:
Pantanal Experience: Ride alongside cattle on horseback as local cowboys do, enjoy a rustic lunch, relax in a hammock, visit Agachi Museum, and savor the peace of a traditional Pantanal fazenda. Salobra Project: A tractor-drawn carriage ride through forests to the river, followed by a boat tour of the “Meeting of Waters,” lunch, then another carriage ride and a different boat tour (depending on river conditions, swimming may be possible). Return to the lodge for coffee, then transfer to Bodoquena for check-in and evening at leisure.
Day 7 –Bodoquena (B, L)
After breakfast, visit the crystal-clear Serra da Bodoquena Springs (Blue River): float for 700 meters over limestone waters that seem to turn blue under the sunlight, while observing fish and plants beneath you. Later, head to Hacienda das Cachoeiras da Serra da Bodoquena for trail walks, waterfall swimming, a boat ride, zipline, kayak, beach tennis, and lunch. Return to hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
Day 8 – Bodoquena / Boca da Onça Waterfalls DAY USE / Bonito (B, L)
Morning adventure at Boca da Onça Park, featuring a 4 km trail passing several waterfalls—including the state’s tallest at 156 meters—where swimming may be allowed. Optional 90-meter rappelling (extra cost) or descent down 886 steps to view the canyon of Rio Salobra. Return to the reception, change clothes, and enjoy lunch. Head to Bonito, check in, and evening at leisure.
Day 9 – Bonito (B)
Explore Blue Lake Cave discovered in 1924 a protected, crystal-clear underground lake with intense blue waters. Access is via a 300-meter trail and 298 steps down. The cave contains fossils, minerals, and rare crustaceans. Minimum age: 6 years. Masks and proper footwear required.
In the afternoon, visit the Natural Aquarium: walk approx. 700 meters to the spring of Baia Bonita River, then float 800 m while admiring fish and undersea plants, with animal-spotting on a 1,000 m return trail. Optional zipline at the confluence of rivers. A support boat is provided, and there's a restaurant (separate payment). Return to hotel and evening at leisure.
Day 9 – Bonito / Campo Grande (B)
After breakfast, check-out and transfer to Campo Grande airport for departure. End of ser.
