Activities
Day 1 – São Paulo.
Arrival in Sao Paulo and transfer to hotel. Accommodation.
Day 2 – São Paulo. (B)
A tour along São Paulo's most representative sights. It begins with the presentation of the Ibirapuera Park, the main green area of the city, where we showcase the historical importance of the Obelisk of São Paulo and Monumento às Bandeiras (Monument to the Flags), and several art-woks made by Oscar Niemeyer, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) and the Oca. The route follows through the chic streets of the Jardins neighborhood, highlighting the architectural design of the Unique Hotel and the Church of Nossa Senhora do Brasil, until reaching the Vila Madalena neighborhood. There, we will find the unusual and colorful Batman Alley, with its graffiti-covered murals. We then cross the famous Paulista Avenue to see the imposing Copan and Italia buildings, the Anhangabaú Valley, the Teatro Municipal (Municipal Theatre), the Páteo do Colégio (place where the city was founded), the São Bento Monastery and the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral located at Praça da Sé (Sé Square) and we finish at Municipal Market of Sao Paulo.
Day 3 – Sao Paulo/ Paraty. (B)
Transfer to Paraty. 270 km away, about 4 hours of trip. Arrival in Paraty and accommodation.
Day 4 – Paraty. (B)
City Tour Paraty: Different from the other colonial cities of Brazil, the architecture of Paraty has character, originality and definition, forming a harmonious monument of the 18th century. Paraty is a Brazil National Historic Monument and a UNESCO World History Patrimony Site. 65% of Paraty’s area is located inside the National Park of Serra da Bocaina. Our guides will teach you all about the legends and the history of the last century. You’ll visit churches, museums, and colonial homes.
Day 5 – Paraty. (B, L)
Schooner Cruise with Lunch: Spend a leisure day out to sea winding your way through the flawless reefs of Paraty. This tour takes different routes each day of the week, stopping in four prime locations. At each stop, you have the option to dive in warm, crystal clear waters with mask and snorkel (provided). One of the four stops has become a must see for every trip, Ilha Comprida. Known as nature’s fish aquarium, when our guides drop just a grain of rice from the boat, entire schools of fish come out, surrounding the boat and snorkelers. Time after time, visitors tell us this is the most fun part of their entire vacation! It’s the place to take pictures so make sure to bring an underwater camera!
Day 6 – Paraty/ Angra dos Reis. (B)
Transfer to Angra dos Reis. 100km away, about 1 hour of trip. Arrival and accommodation.
Day 7 – Angra dos Reis. (B)
Free day.
Day 8 – Angra dos Reis/ Ilha Grande. (B)
Transfer to the píer and transfer by ferry to Ilha Grande. Arrival and accommodation.
Day 9 – Ilha Grande. (B)
Breakfast. Tour Lopes Mendes Beach: The most crowded beach at the Big Island. It’s good very good for surfing. This beach is also good for diving. Right in front of you will find the Jorge Grego Island. There are fruit trees along the beach that offer shade to relief from the sun.
Day 10 – Ilha Grande. (B)
Breakfast. Free day to explore the island.
Day 11 – Ilha Grande/ Angra dos Reis/ Rio de Janeiro. (B)
Breakfast. Transfer by ferry to Angra dos Reis pier. Transfer to Rio de Janeiro, 155km away, about 2 hours of trip. Arrival and accommodation.
Day 12 – Rio de Janeiro. (B, L)
After breakfast, in previous scheduled time, we will leave the hotel to visit Rio’s most famous landmarks and natural beauties. After a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, you will arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado Hill and continue the tour on a comfortable train which will climb the mountain until the famous Christ the Redeemer (2.300ft above sea level). There is mechanized access with panoramic elevators and escalators that take us to the foot of the statute. There, you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro and discover why the city is called the “Marvelous City”. We make our way down on the same route and towards another world famous landmark, the Sugar Loaf, named because its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined sugar loaf. The tour is done in two steps by glass cable-cars. The first cable-car takes passengers to the top of Urca Hill, which rises215 metersabove sea level and offers spectacular views of the entire bay its islands. From Urca Hill, passengers continue in a second cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf which rises 395 meters above sea level and offers a 360 degree view of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana Beaches, the Corcovado and downtown Rio. It´s included lunch in a typical Barbecue restaurant "churrascaria". Back to hotel and Accommodation.
Day 13 – Rio de Janeiro. (B)
Jeep Tour in Tijuca Forest (only in Shared Service): Following your pick-up in open-top jeeps at your hotel, guests will be taken to the stunning Tijuca Atlantic Forest, the largest urban forest in the world. We will make stops at the Chinese Lookout with magnificent views of Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, Guanabara Bay and Sugar Loaf. During the tour, guests can casually observe tropical animals like monkeys, sloths and exotic birds. On the way back to the hotel, we will stop at the Pepino Beach to watch the hang gliders fly through the air.
Day 14 – Rio de Janeiro. (B)
Transfer out to Rio de Janeiro Airport.
