Activities
Day 1 – Rio de Janeiro.
Arrival in Rio de Janeiro. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Accomodation.
Day 2 – Rio de Janeiro. (B, L)
After breakfast, in previous scheduled time, we will leave the hotel to visit Rio’s most famous landmarks and natural beauties. After a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, you will arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado Hill and continue the tour on a comfortable train which will climb the mountain until the famous Christ the Redeemer (2.300ft above sea level). There is mechanized access with panoramic elevators and escalators that take us to the foot of the statute. There, you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro and discover why the city is called the “Marvelous City”. We make our way down on the same route and towards another world famous landmark, the Sugar Loaf, named because its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined sugar loaf. The tour is done in two steps by glass cable-cars. The first cable-car takes passengers to the top of Urca Hill, which rises 215 meters above sea level and offers spectacular views of the entire bay its islands. From Urca Hill, passengers continue in a second cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf which rises 395 meters above sea level and offers a 360 degree view of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana Beaches, the Corcovado and downtown Rio. It´s included lunch in a typical Barbecue Restaurant "churrascaria". Back to hotel and accommodation.
Day 3 – Rio de Janeiro / Manaus. (B, D)
Transfer out to the airport. Arrival inManaus. Transfer to the Lodge . Reception with local juice after which guests will be shown to the rooms. Following visit to the Monkey Jungle. Dinner and evening tour by canoe for Alligator Spotting . Overnight at the lodge.
Day 4 – Manaus. (B, L, D)
Nature Hike. Return for regional lunch. After a short rest, visit to the home of local Amazonian residents (“caboclos”) with opportunity for piranha fishing. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5 – Manaus. (B, L, D)
Full day tour to the Meeting of the Waters with lunch. Following optional canoe ride with an opportunity for Piranha Fishing. Arrival at the lodge at 17h30. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6 – Manaus / Belem. (B)
Free time to enjoy the natural pools. Check-out at 10h30 and transfer toManaus. Arrival inBelem. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Accomodation.
Day 7 – Belem / Marajo Island. (B, L, D)
Early morning transfer to the pier. Cruise on the regular line boat to the village of Camará (approx. 3 hours). Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Lunch. Afternoon tour to Araruna beach with its mangrove forest and birds. Dinner.
Day 8 – Marajo Island. (B, L, D)
Visit to the cities of Salvaterra and Soure. Lunch. Visit to a Marajó ranch and to Pesqueiro beach .Dinner
Day 9 – Marajo Island / Belem. (B, L)
Free Day. After lunch, transfer to Camará pier to board the regular line boat to Belém. Arrival in Belém in the late afternoon and transfer to hotel.
Day 10 – Belem / Sao Luis. (B)
Transfer to airport. Arrival in São Luis. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Accomodation.
In the afternoon City tour inSao Luis: A trip to the times of colonial Brazil. Its what you’ll live on this tour at the streets of the historical center of São Luis. In addition to the beautiful old center, which contains the most homogeneous collection of secular Portuguese architecture inLatin America, you will visit the two most scanic beaches on the island and learn about local people, legends, and folklore. Cobblestone alleyways, colonial buildings, stairways of stone, and dozens of important historical monuments that preserve the memory of a place that is considered “The City of Tiles and Mansions”. “Projeto Reviver”, that gave life back to a part of the historical center, today is an attractive visit card. The ancient Cânhamo Factory, transformed into a shopping center of the best handcrafting from Maranhão, the theatre, museums. In a short, the fascination and beauty of São Luis, the only Brazilian capital that have not started Portuguese, but French.
Day 11 – Sao Luis / Barreirinhas (Lencois Maranhenses). (B)
Transfer to Barreirinhas (4 hours of trip). Accommodation in a Pousada.
In the afternoon, departure in a 4x4 vehicle with ferry crossing over white sand trails, lakes and small dunes until we reach the Parque dos Lençóis - APA, where we will hike the Lagoa Azul circuit or the Lagoa da Esperança circuit (according to the period of the year ), with swimming in the pond and contemplating the beautiful sunset on the dunes. Then, in the late afternoon, we will return to Barreirinhas.
Day 12 – Lencois Maranhenses. (B)
After breakfast, departure from the hotel to the pier and board a speedboat to the Rio Preguiças Circuit (APA - Environmental Protection Area). During the tour, we appreciate the landscape of typical mangrove vegetation and fauna of the region around the river. The first stop is at community of Vassouras local where the small lagoons are and a small community of riverside and capuchin monkeys that live there and interact with the visitor. Continuation to Mandacaru, small village that keeps the Lighthouse of Preguiças with 160 steps to enjoy a 360º view of the region with dunes, river, mouth, typical vegetation and the city. Finally, Caburé, a beach that it´s located between the river and the sea.
Day 13 – Lencois Maranhenses / Sao Luis. (B)
Transfer to Sao Luis. Accomodation.
Day 14 – Sao Luis / Rio de Janeiro. (B)
Transfer out. Arrival in Rio de Janeiro. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Accomodation.
Day 15 – Rio de Janeiro. (B)
Transfer to the airport.
