Macuco Safari Resumes Operations in Iguazu Falls (Brazil)
The Macuco Safari boat tour at Iguazu Falls has resumed normal operations following a temporary suspension after an incident that occurred on July 28. Extensive safety inspections, fleet reviews, and staff retraining were carried out in coordination with local authorities, including ICMBio and the Brazilian Navy.
The attraction is currently welcoming visitors as usual, while the official investigation into the incident continues.
Temporary Closure of the Devil’s Throat Circuit (Argentina)
The iconic Devil’s Throat Circuit (Garganta del Diablo), located on the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls, has been temporarily closed since August 3.
The measure was taken as a preventive action due to forecasts of rising river levels associated with anticipated El Niño weather conditions. Park authorities have begun removing sections of the walkway system to protect infrastructure and ensure visitor safety.
The closure is expected to last around 40 days, subject to weather and river conditions. During this period, the Upper and Lower Circuits remain open and continue to offer excellent views of the falls.
Accessibility Improvements at Christ the Redeemer (Rio de Janeiro)
Major accessibility upgrades are currently underway at the Christ the Redeemer complex in Rio de Janeiro.
As part of the project, existing escalators are being replaced and new inclined elevators will be installed to improve visitor access. The monument remains open, and transportation via the Corcovado Train and official vans continues to operate normally.
Visitors should note that temporary route adjustments are in place, including the use of stairways to reach the final viewing platform. Reduced visitor capacity is also expected during the approximately 10-month renovation period.
