Day 1 – São Paulo.
Arrival in Sao Paulo and transfer to hotel. Accommodation.
Day 2 – São Paulo. (B)
HD City tour: We start our tour at the famous Bairro Orintal with its typical Japanese decoration. Then we proceed till the Cathedral( Praca da Se) at downtown area. From this point we walk towards the dead center of São Paulo (Tropic of Capricorn) and visit the monument “The Immortal Glory of the founders of the city”.Back to the van/car/bus we go to Higianopolis, the hard and soul of the modern Jewish community and where the rich families used to live during Old Republic era.Next stop will the most important financial center of South America the Paulista Avenue, among six different styles of architecture there is MASP (Museum de Arte de São Paulo), considered one of the best museums in the world. From that point we go to Governor’s Palace, we finish at the green area Ibirapuera Park and the Oscar Niemeyer buildings (1.6 million square meters) the largest of our 32 public squares.
Day 3 – Sao Paulo/ Paraty. (B)
Transfer to Paraty. 270 km away, about 4 hours of trip. Arrival in Paraty and accommodation.
Day 4 – Paraty. (B)
City Tour Paraty: Different from the other colonial cities of Brazil, the architecture of Paraty has character, originality and definition, forming a harmonious monument of the 18th century. Paraty is a Brazil National Historic Monument and a UNESCO World History Patrimony Site. 65% of Paraty’s area is located inside the National Park of Serra da Bocaina. Our guides will teach you all about the legends and the history of the last century. You’ll visit churches, museums, and colonial homes.
Day 5 – Paraty. (B, L)
Schooner Cruise with Lunch: Spend a leisure day out to sea winding your way through the flawless reefs of Paraty. This tour takes different routes each day of the week, stopping in four prime locations. At each stop, you have the option to dive in warm, crystal clear waters with mask and snorkel (provided). One of the four stops has become a must see for every trip, Ilha Comprida. Known as nature’s fish aquarium, when our guides drop just a grain of rice from the boat, entire schools of fish come out, surrounding the boat and snorkelers. Time after time, visitors tell us this is the most fun part of their entire vacation! It’s the place to take pictures so make sure to bring an underwater camera!
Day 6 – Paraty/ Angra dos Reis. (B)
Transfer to Angra dos Reis. 100km away, about 1 hour of trip. Arrival and accommodation.
Day 7 – Angra dos Reis. (B)
Day 8 – Angra dos Reis/ Ilha Grande. (B)
Transfer to the píer and transfer by ferry to Ilha Grande. Arrival and accommodation.
Day 9 – Ilha Grande. (B)
Breakfast. Tour Lopes Mendes Beach: The most crowded beach at the Big Island. It’s good very good for surfing. This beach is also good for diving. Right in front of you will find the Jorge Grego Island. There are fruit trees along the beach that offer shade to relief from the sun.
Day 10 – Ilha Grande. (B)
Breakfast. Free day to explore the island.
Day 11 – Ilha Grande/ Angra dos Reis/ Rio de Janeiro. (B)
Breakfast. Transfer by ferry to Angra dos Reis pier. Transfer to Rio de Janeiro, 155km away, about 2 hours of trip. Arrival and accommodation.
Day 12 – Rio de Janeiro. (B, L, D)
FD Sugar Loaf wit City tour + Corcovado with beaches + lunch – Over a million tourists a year visit the world famous Pão de Açúcar, or Sugar Loaf Mountain in English, which has become an iconic symbol of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Rising up from small peninsula at the entrance of Guanabara Bay, its name is said to refer to its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined sugar loaf. The tour is done in two steps by glass cable-cars. The first cable-car takes passengers to the top of Urca Hill, which rises 215 meters above sea level and offers spectacular views of the entire bay its islands. From Urca Hill, passengers continue in a second cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf which rises 395 meters above sea level and offers a 360 degree view of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana Beaches, the Corcovado and downtown Rio.We will depart from the hotel to visit the Christ Statue, which was recently elected as one of the seven modern wonders of the world, which sits 2,300 above sea level, atop Corcovado Hill. Following a scenic drive along the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, we will arrive at the foot of the hill from where we ill embark on a small train which climbs the beautiful mountain. Upon reaching the top, visitors will experience a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro and discover why it is known as the “Marvelous City”! Tour also includes a drive along Rio’s famous beaches. Lunch is included.
In the evening Samba Show with dinner: A spectacular samba show with singers and dancers in elaborate costumes who present Brazil’s rich folkloric traditions and capture the famous rhythms of Carnaval. Dinner is included.
Day 13 – Rio de Janeiro. (B)
Jeep Tour in Tijuca Forest (only SIB): Following your pick-up in open-top jeeps at your hotel, guests will be taken to the stunning Tijuca Atlantic Forest, the largest urban forest in the world. We will make stops at the Chinese Lookout with magnificent views of Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, Guanabara Bay and Sugar Loaf. During the tour, guests can casually observe tropical animals like monkeys, sloths and exotic birds. On the way back to the hotel, we will stop at the Pepino Beach to watch the hang gliders fly through the air.
Day 14 – Rio de Janeiro. (B)
Transfer out to Rio de Janeiro Airport.
